the Creative Head Magazine Most-Wanted hair awards. I can't wait to see who scoops the top prize, and who wins the category I judged, Salon Team. Sponsored by Wella Professionals, it's bound to be a big night out - I'm trying not to obsess about what to wear, I have learnt from experience that whatever I wear I'll be positively underdressed next to a roomful of hairdressers.
Years ago my husband and I went to a ball as a guest of Wella. On the coach to the venue, my husband had a last-minute outfit crisis when he realised he was wearing a tie and not a dickie bow. Really, don't worry, I assured him, hairdressers will interpret the 'black tie' dress code very liberally. At that moment, Mark Hill stepped onto the coach, clad top-to-toe in leather, including a waistcoat with nothing under it! And we all had a great time, bow tie or not.
